About us

Rajeev Sharma is the founder of MarathonYogis.blog, a fitness and wellness resource for master athletes — runners and yogis over 50 who refuse to slow down.

Born and raised in Dehradun near Haridwar, Rajeev was introduced to yoga early in life through his paternal grandfather, a dedicated practitioner of Yoga and Pranayama closely associated with Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The turbulence of teenage years led him on a deeper search — one that ended with yoga becoming a lifelong practice and philosophy.

That commitment led him to earn a Bachelor of Education degree in Yoga from Panjab University. For years he taught yoga in corporate offices on weekends while simultaneously coaching a marathon running team — living proof that the two disciplines belong together.

In 2013, he left the corporate world entirely to dedicate himself to personal practice, running, and coaching. Today, MarathonYogis.blog brings together his 30+ years of experience to help athletes over 50 train smarter, recover faster, and stay in the game longer — through the science of running, the wisdom of yoga, and data-driven tools like HRV and Zone 2 training.

A mountain lover at heart, Rajeev practices what he preaches through trail running, mountain biking, and yoga in the Himalayas.
